This has been worrying me for a while now...

We’re seeing more business owners turning to AI for tax advice, bookkeeping and financial decisions, and while AI can be an amazing tool, it’s not a replacement for a qualified professional.

Tax law is complicated, constantly changing and highly dependent on your individual circumstances.

And please think twice before giving a random AI tool access to your Xero file and financial data.

Use AI to help your business, not to replace the people who understand it.

Do you use AI to assist with your financial admin?

I use AI to help me find a piece of information let’s say the ATO website where I might be searching for ages going in circles, and instead I tell AI what I am looking for and the source and it will find it for me. It makes research much quicker. AI is a great tool, but it definitely does not replace a specialist in a field, you need to guide AI to find the answers you need and you need the knowledge to know if it doesn’t sound right
