The love that never left the canvas. 🎨💙
Young Marc Chagall and Bella, smiling in the studio, palette still wet. Then time dissolves — and there he is decades later, white-haired, a book in his lap, Vava’s arms around him by the window.
Same man. Two great loves. One life that kept painting both of them into the sky.
Bella Rosenfeld was his first muse, the girl from Vitebsk he met in 1909 and never stopped floating with in his paintings. She died in 1944. In 1952 he married Valentina “Vava” Brodsky. She stayed with him until the end in 1985. The video doesn’t choose between them. It just lets one photograph breathe into the other.
Watch it once for the faces. Watch it again for how quietly the room changes around them.
Who do you see first — the young couple or the old one? 👇
