Amid a brutal layoff culture, Canva is going viral for taking a different approach to letting employees go. The company is restructuring 22% of its workforce, affecting 1,271 employees, but the benefits being offered to those leaving are getting attention. CEO Melanie Perkins announced that affected employees will receive at least 6 months of salary, up to 12 months of healthcare coverage, and permission to keep their company MacBooks. They’ll also get 1 year of LinkedIn Premium, career coaching, and access to $10,000 grants if they want to start their own businesses, with Canva taking no equity. The restructuring comes as Perkins says Canva’s growth has slowed for the first time in 10 years. Some affected employees will also have the opportunity to move into different roles within the company.
To love another person is to see the face of God. What a privilege it was to be apart of something so special, especially this beautiful show. I’ll forever cherish the memories, and the cast. Thank you @soonertheatrenorman for trusting me with Cosette, and for creating the most wonderful atmosphere for art. Until next time 🫶🏻
