I had the honor of hosting an art workshop for a group of amazing teens, who are apart of the LA Youth 250. A program through the Smithsonian Institution
@smithsonian in collaboration with several other cultural institutions; such as La Plaza de Cultures y Artes, JANM, CAMLA, and LA Commons to name a few.
The intention with this workshop was to provide the students guiding points to create a collaborative Chalk Mural that connected their lived experiences as well as their communities. We went over themes within their previous art pieces, symbolism within art, and an overview of basic chalk techniques that Iโve learned over the years. I was very impressed by all of the students and their thoughtfulness with each of their pieces. Their final murals will be on display for their culmination next month at the Japanese American National Museum
@jamuseum @democracyjanm I want to give a Huge thank you to the dream team at
