September 17 is North Texas Giving Day!
Section Cello Aguillard shares his NTXSO experience and why one might consider donating to us, accompanied by an excerpt from the fourth movement of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, which we performed in April 2025.

Tyler says:
“Hey yall, my name is Tyler Aguillard and Ive enjoyed playing cello in the North Texas Symphony orchestra for a little over a year now. I joined simply because I saw an opportunity to relive and re-experience the moment that I knew with certainty, that I wanted music to be a big part of my life.
For me, that moment was during a performance of Mahler 1’s 4th Mvt…even still, I would love to play the piece again, because there’s something new to find and experience every time…for example, I only now realize that part of what makes this section so profoundly beautiful to me is the shared unison between cello and violin with melody, as well as between cello and viola with harmony…
Since then, music has grown to be something that matters to me on a level that not many other things in life can match — its been a place I can always go to whenever I’m struggling in life.
What’s more important than my own experience though, are the experiences that we, as a collective group of musicians, hope to be able to give each of you guys — maybe a newfound understanding for the depth and importance in what we do, maybe a revival of hope and faith for the good things in life, maybe some simple joy and nostalgia…who knows — we’re all different.
What I know though, is that I believe this orchestra has the potential to be something great…so please, support North Texas Orchestra alongside the values that we prioritize above skill — things like connection, education, presence, and meaning…that way, we can give back you and hopefully, you can start giving to even more people!”
