6 years old • 36 lbs - neutered male
Galtie came to the shelter in April 2026 as an owner surrender after his person became sick and could no longer care for him so they made the difficult decision to bring him to the shelter in hopes that he would get care and another chance. He arrived in heartbreaking condition and was underweight.
They left some really sweet notes about him, describing Galtie as gentle and loving and, we know exactly what they meant. He’s an absolute volunteer and staff favorite. He’s sweet, easygoing, and such a pleasure to handle. He walks nicely on leash. He absolutely loves people and will sit in your lap, lean into you, give you kisses, and soak up all the attention he can get. He’s also great in the car. Volunteers have taken him on several Dog Day Outs, including a beach day, and getting to see him outside the shelter is so special.
Galtie has really blossomed at the shelter. He’s L1, meaning he’s easy for everyone to handle, and all he does is patiently waits in his kennel hoping someone will stop by. Outside of his kennel he is SO happy, his whole body wiggles with excitement, when he gets to spend time with people.
Galtie has been in playgroups and was gentle and tolerant with other dogs. He’ll mingle calmly or sometimes just do his own thing, with the occasional little burst of play. He does best with gentle playmates, and his dog interactions should be matched, as he has had a few conflicts with certain dogs.
And now, after coming so far, Galtie has been placed on the urgent list. 💔 for reasons unknown to us. He’s one of those sweet, gentle, quiet, easygoing dogs who doesn’t bother anyone and just patiently waits in his kennel. Please help us make sure someone sees him before it’s too late. it’s heartbreaking to think that his story could end here.
Share his story. Tag and Comment to get his name in front of more people. And if you can foster or adopt, please consider giving Galtie the second chance. He shouldn’t have to lose his life because no one stopped long enough to see what an incredible dog he is. ❤️
