🎤🎶 Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome Grace Savage, four-time UK Beatbox Champion, to Wellington College Prep!

Grace inspired pupils in Years 3-8 with an exciting and interactive assembly, teaching them how to layer four sounds to create their own beatbox flow. She also wowed everyone with a fantastic demonstration of her incredible vocal sound effects, and even some of our teachers got involved and gave beatboxing a try!

The excitement continued as Grace worked with our Year 7 and 8 Senior Choir in a more advanced workshop. Using her loop station, pupils collaborated to compose their own beatbox loop piece, learning how to capture ideas, build layers of sound and perfect "The Drop".

Beatboxing is a brilliant way to develop confidence in your own voice, strengthen breath control and explore the amazing possibilities of vocal performance. We have no doubt there were plenty of beatboxing demonstrations taking place at home last night!
