Very nicely articulated by Vishwas Gupta in this video. I completely resonate with this message because we communicate long before we speak.

As an Executive Presence Coach, I see this repeatedly in my work with leaders.

Executive Presence is not only about what you say or how confidently you say it. Your physical presence and appearance are also part of how others experience you.

The way you dress.
The way you groom yourself.
The way you carry yourself.
The intention behind how you present yourself.

Everything communicates.

It can influence perceptions of your credibility, confidence, competence, trustworthiness and authority — often before people have experienced your actual capability.

We often say, “People shouldn’t judge us by our appearance.”

Perhaps they shouldn’t. But the reality is, they often do.

That’s why appearance, for me, is not about vanity or looking expensive. It is about appropriateness, authenticity, awareness and intention.

Before an important meeting, presentation, interview or leadership conversation, ask yourself:

How do I want to show up?
Does my appearance support the credibility I want to establish?
Is the way I present myself aligned with the leader I want people to experience?

Your appearance may create the first impression.
Your behaviour and communication reinforce it.
Your competence ultimately validates it.

Together, they shape your Executive Presence and the impact you create.

Sometimes, you may not get a second opportunity to change a first impression.

So, show up with intention.
