hi.
i wanted to open up and be fully transparent about where i’ve been at for the past few months.
i’ve taken a lot of time off from work, events, social media, performing, etc because i needed a moment of stillness to just reflect on where i’ve been, where i want to go and who i want to be. during this break i’ve felt my mind grow and bend in so many ways. to some this break might’ve looked like “isolation” but to me it felt necessary to honor this new wave by allowing myself time to just think.
when it comes to music though (and how i want to approach this career in general), that has also changed. i no longer want to participate in the game of chasing fame, doing whatever gets me popular the quickest and whatever generates me the most money.
when i think back to the 8 year old version of me that couldn’t stop singing and writing songs in his dads office at church i remember the purpose of this all: i want to make art because it’s a natural form of my expression. i don’t want to be ambitious to “win” i want to be ambitious because of my desire to constantly, authentically express myself.
being an artist in 2026 is really interesting because everyone is trying to make the biggest splash and market themselves in the most digestible way and/or overexposing themselves so that an algorithm can notice and reward them with numbers. i have found that that’s something that doesn’t appeal to me anymore.
the path that i’ve been on for the past few years or so has been an ambitious one, not out of expression but out of trying to please everyone else first before me. i don’t care about making the most money, i don’t care about fame and i do not care to mute myself down to a frequency that makes sense to people. i want to be myself, make art, have fun and the people that get it will get it.
