I hadn’t seen a Western spadefoot toad (Pelobates cultripes) since 2023. So when we planned our trip to the Pyrenees we made sure to give this awesome species a shot. Our first night was the only opportunity we had to see them but with a full moon and some wind our hopes were quite low. Fortunately, while heading back to the car @miguel_wild_shots spotted this dude’s eye shine from a distance 🐸 we were able to just admire him and photo him in situ which was even better.

This was our first good find, and it set the mood for what was to become a fantastic week with great people🔥
