PTSD is definitely everywhere and people still say shit like "you've never been through real hardship" if you're an attractive, American woman ('just what I've noticed.) Even though you don't have to be Veteran to experience trauma. I got diagnosed with PTSD just due to my awful 16 months in a poor orphanage and I've suffered other trauma too throughout my life. Trauma isn't as much the events themselves, but how it impacts you. Two people can go through the same trauma and one will be really affected while the other person won't. Also Complex-PTSD isn't recognized in the DSM-5 yet', but I hope it will be in the next edition DSM-6. It is recognized in another diagnostic guide used in othet countries. Also, I wish the people putting all this energy into saying we're faking would put it towards helping people with trauma, disabilities and other conditions instead. ❤️ Imagine it's your loved one or someone with cancer. Would you say the same things to them?? The small number if people faking disabilities aren't nearly as harmful to us as those who are so quick to fake-claim us, minimize our pain or other awful things.
