American painter Robert Henry De Niro Sr. is pictured with his young son, Robert De Niro, in 1946. Born in 1922, De Niro Sr. was a respected artist known for his expressive paintings and distinctive use of colour.

His son would grow up to become one of Hollywood’s greatest actors, starring in classics such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas, winning two Academy Awards.

Despite their different careers, Robert remained proud of his father’s artistic achievements. In 2014, he released a documentary celebrating his father’s life and legacy, helping introduce his remarkable artwork to a new generation. 🎨❤️
