Two Georgia women are facing m*rder charges after a 4-year-old boy was found de@d inside an #Atlanta home, with authorities alleging he suffered horrific injuries before his passing. Police discovered Cobee Cooks’ body hidden beneath a pile of clothes in a closet while conducting a welfare check on Oct. 26. According to court documents, the child had burns, cuts, and broken bones, with investigators determining he had been de@d for 12 to 24 hours. The medical examiner ruled his death a result of blunt force trauma, with additional injuries reportedly including lacerations to his liver and spleen. Authorities arrested 32-year-old Jasmaine Smoak, identified as a friend of Cobee’s mother, after she allegedly fled the residence with three other children shortly before officers arrived. All three were rescued, though one reportedly had visible injuries and was later identified by family as Cobee’s brother. Smoak faces multiple charges, including m*rder, aggravated a$$ault, child cruelty, and concealing a de@th. Another woman, Jasmine Jenkins, was also arrested in connection with the case and faces charges including m*rder, aggravated a$$ault, and cruelty to children. Her relationship to the children remains unclear. Meanwhile, Cobee’s great-aunt claims family members previously raised concerns about the children’s safety and attempted to intervene, including contacting police. A #GoFundMe has since been established to help cover funeral expenses and his brother’s medical bills. Remembering Cobee as a loving, energetic child, the family shared, “He was our little burst of sunshine, always full of life and personality.”💔🕊️
