I was at @therosereadbookshop last night for the launch of The Cairo Bridal Shop by Tess Woods, patiently waiting for my turn to have my copy signed by Tess.

So naturally, I thought I’d have a little look around while I waited.

Four books later… apparently I cannot be left unsupervised in a bookshop.

This stack is painfully on brand for me 🙈😂, complicated women, history, culture, politics, grief, murder and at least one book that’s guaranteed to emotionally ruin me.

Did I already have unread books waiting for me at home? Absolutely.

Was that relevant while I was standing in a beautiful bookshop surrounded by books? Absolutely not.

Anyway, I had a tonne of fun, made new friends, Tess signed my book and I accidentally acquired four new ones.

A very successful evening, if you ask me. 😂📚
