What being woke looks like to me

I filmed this video two years ago, with a heart full of hope that a woman who was capable and educated and qualified would be elected to lead our country.

We all know how that turned out.

It was heartbreaking, baffling, infuriating —and I had this deep feeling of dread. I knew the next two years would be bad, I just didn’t know they would look like this.

I couldn’t believe how many people decided not to vote at all. Too many people have fought and díed and clawed their way to get us the right to choose. What an insult to them when we squander our opportunity to have a say in our government.

I’ve always looked at candidates like buses— you won’t get one that gets you to exactly where you want to go. So, you have to pick the one that gets you the closest. The perfect candidate does not exist. There will never be one that believes everything that you believe, that prioritizes things the way that you would. So, you have to pick the one that gets you the closest to the world that you want to live in.

This is not the world that I want to live in. Where people live in fear, are shot in the streets, who come here looking for a better life and are instead rounded up like animals and put in cages. Where women are watching their rights be stripped away one by one.

Where did our humanity go? What happened to loving your neighbor? I’m not religious, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t what your Bible tells you to do.

I’m not sure when being wide awake became an insult, but my eyes have been wide open and watching what has unfolded here.

And I’ll be damned if I’m going to squander my opportunity to change it. 💙✊🏼 🗳️

The White House receives mixed reactions after sharing a viral AI-generated 'ONE PIECE' image recreating an iconic original key visual, featuring Donald Trump and several other figures

Four months earlier, Japan's Economic Security Minister Kimi Onoda commented on a separate AI-generated anime image of Trump depicting himself as Naruto, expressing concerns about the potential impact on Japanese intellectual property

"We should exercise extreme caution to avoid situations where the reputation of a work is damaged by its use in a manner contrary to the rights holders' intent"

Onoda also stated that Japan would continue taking appropriate measures, including communicating with the United States, to ensure Japanese copyrights are properly handled
