I woke up again feeling inexplicably happy, just like the old days, before I had even heard of trump or knew that a large segment of the population was immoral and cruel. I know there’s a ton of work to do to drag our country back from the brink, but I want to enjoy this feeling of euphoria a little while longer. I hope it lasts long enough for me to get a more recent photo of me being happy, so my kids don’t remember me only as a politics-obsessed old coot, filled with despair. Onward and upwards! Let’s make sure this can never happen again.

His journey began at just 𝟭𝟲, when he made his debut for Portugal’s U15s in 2001 ❤️🇵🇹

📊 Here are some incredible numbers from his 23-year senior international career:

🎩 Scored 𝟭𝟬 𝗛𝗔𝗧-𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗦 for Portugal.

⏳ 𝟴,𝟬𝟱𝟱 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 between his first and last international goals.

🪑 Spent only 𝟯 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗥𝗘 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗦 on the bench in 23 years.

🏟️ Started 𝟮𝟭𝟴 𝗢𝗙 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝟮𝟯𝟰 matches for Portugal.

⚽ Even without penalties, he’d still have 𝟭𝟮𝟯 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗚𝗢𝗔𝗟𝗦.

🎯 Scored exactly 𝟰𝟭 𝗚𝗢𝗔𝗟𝗦 in World Cup qualifiers and 𝟰𝟭 in EURO qualifiers.

𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗜𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗟 👑🇵🇹

Looks like he’s aged a few men in his time

Unfortunately posting a meme with a normal caption doesn’t seem to be enough for Instagram anymore. They keep flagging posts as unoriginal so now I’ve got to write a big paragraph underneath everything to try and avoid it happening again. It’s also why you’ve probably seen every account suddenly writing essays with ChatGPT. Don’t really like doing those so I’ve wrote this instead. Hope you’re enjoying the extra words Zuckerberg.
