BATHU STANDS AGAINST FEMICIDE AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
There are moments when silence is no longer an option.
South Africa continues to confront the devastating reality of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), a crisis that affects women and girls across our communities, workplaces, families and society.
At Bathu, we believe that every woman deserves to live, work and walk through the world with dignity, safety and freedom from fear.
We stand firmly against femicide. We stand against GBV. And we stand with women.
Behind every statistic is a person. A daughter. A sister. A mother. A colleague. A friend. A life, a future and a story that should never have been taken from her.
As a proudly South African business, we recognise that our responsibility extends beyond the products we create and the communities we serve. It also lives within our workplace and in the opportunities we create.
We believe in creating spaces where women can grow, lead, contribute and build meaningful careers.
But economic opportunity cannot, on its own, end GBV. Meaningful change requires all of us as businesses, communities, families, institutions and individuals to challenge the behaviours and systems that allow violence against women to persist.
This is more than a statement.
It is a reminder of the society we want to help build.
A society where women are not simply protected after tragedy, but respected before it. Where their voices are heard. Where their ambitions are supported. Where their workplaces are safe. Where their lives are valued.
At Bathu, we will continue to use our platform, our people and our workplace to contribute to a culture that respects women and rejects violence in all its forms.
Because every woman deserves to walk her journey freely, safely and with dignity.
We remember those we have lost. We stand with survivors. We support women. And we call on all of us to do more.
Bathu stands against femicide. Bathu stands against GBV. Bathu stands with women.
