Ate Jene, a Filipina migrant to the UK, was turned away from Bart’s Hospital when she needed urgent cardiological care because she was unable to pay upfront costs of over £40,000. Now, ate Jene’s condition is only worsening, and she’s even had to consider moving back to the Philippines to receive medical treatment. Ate Jene wants to build a life and a future here - but that will only be possible if we come together to support her. On 11 Oct., 4:30pm-6:30pm, at Pelican House, 144 Cambridge Heath Rd London E1 5QJ, we’ll host an open community meeting to discuss how we can fight for ate Jene’s right to treatment and to stay.
Food will be provided, and transport costs can be reimbursed up to £10.
