Asking the XClutch expert if upgraded clutches last longer (He said no btw…for the most part… anyway…maybe just listen to his answer instead.)

ChatGPT thinks it has car mods all figured out, but Steve is ready to drop some knowledge. Turns out, your factory clutch is secretly acting as a drivetrain shield, and upgrading it might not mean what you think it means.

Episode 2 drops this Thursday. Drop your worst mechanical arguments below so we can see if Steve threatens to walk out.

What about a factory powered car that sees track abuse. Would a stage 1 be more durable than oem? Type r clutch also has more of a 60-70% more torque cushion.

i got a 15 veloster turbo 6spd, it has an oem dual mass flywheel in there now but it’s nearing the end of life, is it worth it swapping it for a single mass? it’s about the same if not a couple hundred cheaper than another oem replacement. stock engine at this moment, but i plan on getting it tuned in the future. would that be worth it?
