24 days agoI owned both a 357 and 9mm LCR and hoped to use the 9mm as a training gun. Unfortunately the POI with the 9mm was way higher than the 357. I never encountered a stoppage from crimp jumping within a cylinders worth, but did notice heavier grain or poorly crimped 9mm would try to separate faster.
a month agoI haven't had mine for very long but I've had good luck with the Winchester white box "train and practice" the small 50 round boxes. Only a 100 rounds through mine so far but no crimp jump. I know it doesn't have the best reputation but the two boxes I've put through mine were fine.
a month agoIs it just me that is noticing that the case at 6 o'clock is squeaky clean? It doesn't look like any powder burned. Pretty sure that was a squib load.
a month agoAuto cartridges head space off the case mouth. Factory ammo can have inconsistent neck tension. If you have a reloading press you can use the crimp die to apply a slight roll crimp the same way you would to a magnum revolver cartridge.
a month agoTime to start reloading. I’m learning that crimp and case neck tension is so much more important than I realized when I started.
a month agoSyntec is the worst for jumping the crimp. Best 9mm for revolver is speer lawmen. Highly recommend
