Where do your ideas live before you make them?

“They live somewhere between myself and the world — and increasingly, between the physical and the virtual.

I’ve always felt a certain distance from my surroundings, as if experiencing reality through a screen or a veil.

I’m drawn to textiles, folds, reflections, and surfaces that play with light — as ways of perceiving the world while remaining slightly protected from it.

In a world saturated with fleeting digital images, painting materiality is my way of holding onto something tangible, while allowing the eye to become almost tactile.” — Maude Corriveau, Montreal, Quebec, Canada @maude_corriveau
