“Lewis’s distinction is significant; Aslan is neither an allegory of Christ, nor a symbol. He is a supposal, a thought experiment of Christ Himself in a different world…” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼So good. Because that is *exactly* what Gerwig is doing—“let’s cast his voice as a woman and follow what happens”. The film will bomb but I’m not convinced making something lasting is her overall intent anyway.
