A Book in a Day: Collaborative Artist’s Book Workshops
Join artist Karl Larsson / PUUT for A Book in a Day, a hands-on collaborative artist’s book workshop this October at Book Suey and Hamtramck Public Library!
Bring your photographs, writing, drawings, illustrations, collages, or other creative material and help create a new artist’s book, printed and assembled on-site using thermal and receipt printers. Each participant will contribute approximately 10 pages, receive a copy of the finished book, and create a unique cover.
No previous experience is required! Both workshops are free and limited to 10 participants.

About Karl Larsson & PUUT
Karl Larsson is a multidisciplinary artist whose process-based practice explores human interaction, participation, publishing, archives, and the ways people influence one another.
PUUT – Publicering & Utlåning is Larsson’s ongoing, nomadic artist’s book library and artwork, originating from Miljonprogrammet (The One Million Project), a photographic archive he has been building since 2003 that now contains over two million images. Larsson creates publications from this archive, sometimes in collaboration with others, forming the basis of the PUUT library.
With 188 titles and 292 members across 43 countries, PUUT centers on dialogue and exchange. Its books are not for sale but are available to borrow through a library membership.
The collective book created during each workshop will become a new title in the PUUT library.
