For this year’s edition of Crash Club, TBA presented Andrii Rachynskyi’s new series Sadly I Already Know How It Went From Here.

Developed through conversations with Slava Mashnizkiy, an important figure in contemporary Ukrainian art, and rooted in Rachynskyi’s autofictional stories from Kharkiv, the works move between personal memory, the city’s Vietnamese diaspora, amateur documentary footage, and the artist’s photographic archive.

Photography, collage and repoussé come together in a layered portrait of the “wild East” — where fragments of Kharkiv, the amateur aesthetics of Ukraine’s early independence, and imagined narratives meet.
