OMG HALEY STEVENS JUST ENDORSED MIKE ROGERS LFG!!

Six European countries have publicly refused to play ice hockey against Russia. Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Norway, and Sweden have announced that their national teams will not face Russia at international tournaments, including the 2027 Ice Hockey World Championship.

Their decisions follow a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) overturning restrictions on Russia’s participation in international ice hockey competitions.

Canada has also taken a firm stance, making clear that Russian players will not be allowed to participate in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship on Canadian soil, including through visa restrictions.

Russia has been excluded from international ice hockey competitions since it started its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. As its war of aggression and attacks on Ukrainian civilians continue, so should the ban.

We thank all the countries for their principled positions and for demonstrating that Russia’s return to international sport cannot be separated from its ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
