“IF MUM’S MINIVAN HAD WINGS …”

We started this project three years ago from a place of depletion, it felt like all I had left was a story I would rather not tell, and grief with no where left to go (I found soon of thin that line was to love) but I was running (out of time, out of breathe, out of my mind) … @rashiydwest hit my line and said no more raps that leave people in aw but only looking backwards, tell the truth of now

That hurt cause healing hurts, and the hurt cause I ain’t know if I knew the truth for myself … and that hurt cause I would rather the love loss than some cool songs, but in between the tears of it all, I realized that any opportunity to love is all the reason to love (a mixed bag of Cleo Sol, aunty bell hooks, and heavy weight of quiet nights taught me that) …

I saw it through cause I was hoping it would heal me, and it didn’t, instead I learned that love regardless of what form it takes ain’t something you can out run, and when I turnt to my left I saw how much leg room I really had to share this with my God, my family, my community and specifically my niggas

Thank you God for the gift of creating, loving, hurting, and healing
I needed every single feel to make this come alive
