PRINCE KARL EDUARD PAAR HAS DIED –
EMERITUS GRAND PRIOR OF THE SOVEREIGN ORDER OF MALTA – CZECH GRAND PRIORY (4.1.1934-25.9.2026)🌿
The great era of the Czech Grand Priory of the Order of Malta has come to an end. Prince Karl Paar has just passed away.🌿🌿
He served as Grand Prior of the Czech Grand Priory from 1981 to 1988 (following Karel VI of Schwarzenberg) and again from 2004 to 2011 (following Václav Norbert Kinský dal Borgo). He subsequently held the honorary position of Emeritus Grand Prior.
He was a professed religious knight, who devoted his entire life to the work of the Order. He was a genuinely warm-hearted man who accompanied the Grand Priory during its years in exile in Vienna under the totalitarian regime, as well as through the often difficult years after our return, when the Order’s work was being restored in a free society.
Requiescat in pace 🌿🕊️
