Once the free edge gets longer, everyday things like typing, washing your hair, opening containers and catching your nails can put more stress on them. If they’re breaking while still short, repeated water exposure, aggressive filing, picking or frequent gel manicures may be contributing to brittleness.

If your nails keep breaking at the same length, it may not be a growth problem, it may be a retention problem.

Where do your nails usually break, skin or fingertip? Comment below and I’ll tell you what to look at first. 🤎

Mine break well below the free edge. Usually the thumbs on the inner sidewall is where it will start cracking and then slowly move across my whole nail. 😢
