This past weekend was the third of three Open Houses this semester where we got to welcome prospective students and their families to campus. We hosted a college overview session in Trout Auditorium, and then each of our six departments showcased their facilities. Thank you to everyone who visited us this fall!

The jump from 2 to 3 years old is WILD 🥹♥️ Watching my toddlers become more independent has been one of my proudest moments as a mom!

Here are 7 Montessori-inspired things we’ve introduced in our home to help raise confident, independent little humans

1. A working play kitchen sink for washing hands and dishes
2. Their own cleaning supplies to help around the house
3. A child-height bookshelf to encourage independent reading
4. An accessible closet so they can pick out their own clothes
5. An indoor climbing gym to build confidence and coordination
6. A home for every toy to encourage cleaning up
7. Daily family nature walks to explore and make little choices

Are we doing all of this perfectly? Absolutely not! 😂 But consistency is key. We’re slowly introducing one little thing at a time and practicing it daily. It’s amazing what toddlers are capable of when we give them the opportunity to try!

The goal isn’t to do everything for our kids, but to help them feel confident doing things for themselves✨

Comment “KIDS” and I’ll send you a link to everything we use in our Montessori-inspired home to make independence part of our daily routine!

Hiiiiiii my name is Anna and I like to eat candy for the sake of eating candy 🍬

I don’t earn candy…Nor do I intentionally try to burn said candy off….

This messaging just creates toxic thinking and stress around simple joys in life.

Don’t wanna eat candy or certain foods because of how it makes you feel?…cool I’m on board.

If you want 5 fun sized Snickers, COOL let’s be friends 🤣

But how about we run, row, lift weights, and do burpees for the sake of MOVING our bodies, getting healthier, stronger, and because we actually ENJOY it?!

Exercise is not punishment for what you ate. And food is not something you have to earn.

We can nourish our bodies, enjoy the foods we love, AND train to become strong, healthy, capable women. All at the same time 👏🏼

Who feels me?!?

And if you're ready to train with that same mindset, comment READY and I'll send you the link to try 3 FREE days inside my MLAM Membership! Strength training, deep core & pelvic floor work, education, and a whole lot of women cheering each other on 💪

And no…no I was not a cheerleader, obviously 😅😅😅
