Jews don't get gifts on Christmas because they killed Jesus

arsenaultc80

Told a coworker once “Merry Christmas” and he replied with an eye roll, “I’m Jewish.” I said, “Well thanks for Easter then!”

The New Testament says we should strive every day to be like Jesus. Although we could never attain that goal of perfection, we should still do our best… so what would Jesus do…?🤔 Jesus was circumcised on the eighth day after his birth, and maintain a strict kosher diet, according to “Jewish law”. During the sermon on the mount, Jesus clearly stated that he was NOT there to replace the law, and that the laws of Moses shall remain completely unaltered as long as the Earth exists…🤔 He always celebrated all of the traditional holidays (like Hanukkah) and even traveled to Jerusalem for the Passover holidays…. He prioritized the Commandments, and honored the Sabbath (Saturday) … and he never once suggested that his followers should do otherwise. nowhere in the gospel did Jesus try to start a new religion. Quite the opposite actually! He was the Jewish Messiah, as prescribed in the Old Testament! And yet after he was crucified, it was different men who, over a period of time, declared that followers of Jesus don’t have to live according to how Jesus lived… And that the Sabbath should be changed to Sunday, and his birthday will become a holiday… and you shouldn’t celebrate the holidays that Jesus so obviously prioritized… So do most followers of Jesus truly strive to live their lives as he did? Or are they living their lives according to how a group of mortal men decided after changing things around a bit? And this part is mind blowing… it’s sadly not uncommon for followers of Jesus to discriminate, and even hate, people who still live their lives by the same laws, customs, traditions, etc.… That Jesus himself lived by. I don’t know, I’ve just always found this whole topic fascinating…
