one-time fifteen hundred dollars to every Texas household, paid for by pulling seventeen billion from the state’s Rainy Day Fund, which she says sits at about twenty-seven billion. Her logic is the state only needs ten billion in reserves, so the rest should go back to people. She first floated it back in July as part of her “Money in Your Pocket” agenda, and she’s reaffirmed it since winning. The catch is she can’t just write the checks herself — it takes a two-thirds vote in both legislative chambers, and Republicans still look likely to hold the Senate. No payment date has been set.

The much-awaited cable-knit beauties are coming this month!

Meet the #beneaththepinescardigan and #beneaththepinessocks🌲

I’ll be sharing the exact release dates in the coming days, but in the meantime, you can start getting your needles and yarn ready 🤎

I can’t wait to share these with you!🌲

I used this gorgeous yarn by @lankastudio.shop for these designs. 🤎

No funeral, no obituary. Just a postcard with nine words and a selfie in yellow aviators 🕶️💌

Before he died, retired design professor Don Glickman gave his daughter, Leah, one last assignment: mail postcards to more than 100 of his favorite people, from former students to old friends and colleagues.

Each one carried the same message in clean, bold type: “If you’re reading this, I’m dead, and I really liked you.” He picked the photo and the words himself.

Weeks after his death at 94, the cards started landing in mailboxes. Many of the people who got them said they laughed out loud, because it was exactly how he’d always been: direct, funny and never shy about letting someone know they mattered to him ❤️
