Meet the artists behind the music.
Over the past year, Interplay has been a space for creative growth, new ideas and musical exploration. Now, it’s time to see where that journey has taken them.
Swipe through to get to know @donni.heat and @taiahamusic ahead of their performance at the Interplay 2026 Performance Series.
Live at the Nexus Arts venue on the 21st of November at 8pm. Get your tickets via the link in bio.

My name is Donni Heat, a solo artist based on Kaurna Land who loves to blur the lines between the subgenres found in alternative music. My artistic belief is that we should allow the music to transform and grow to suit the specific message of the music that one is trying to convey, and to not let musical boundaries be your limitation. I perform with my backing band and love raising the roof with our energy.
My creative direction has definitely been streamlined even more, now with the help of fellow Nexus Interplay artists, my mentors, and the overall space itself at Nexus Arts has lent itself to inspiring my overall creativity workflow. I’ve been able to come up with many insane ideas that I’ve finally been able to bring to life through Interplay via new audio-visual releases and performing with my peers!
Through Interplay, I’ve been able to seek guidance and mentorship from many multidisciplinary artists as well as industry professionals in other practices, and that has opened my mind up to the possibilities as a creative director of one’s own work. Being constantly around inspiring musicians as well has helped raise my artistic ceiling - always finding ways to transform and craft my shows to make them more exciting than the last and adding different forms of storytelling into my live performance.
I’ll be showcasing a performance set that I’ve been crafting and refining since essentially the start of the year. It’s going to introduce the world of Donni Heat to strangers in the best way I know how - full of life, chaos, and a whole lot of inclusivity, and hopefully, people will be leaving the show wanting more in 2027!
My name is Taiaha, i am of Maori heritage and I grew
