I'm genuinely grateful to have worked with
@obsidianlensmedia on the documentary and now The Backcourt Magazine. It's refreshing to collaborate with someone who understands the pertinence of preserving a legacy, the historical significance of the stories we're telling, and the responsibility that comes with bringing them to life.
When you're building something intended to outlive you, it's imperative to have people alongside you who recognize the vision beyond the immediate moment. Damian gets it.
NOVEMBER 7TH | The Screening Room | Tucson, AZ
As part of our upcoming Backcourt Documentary screening, which will also feature a live reading accompanied by an original music score from
@microphonetelevision, we'll host a special Q&A discussion with Damian and
@nickarcade_ exploring the evolution of The Backcourt from the original Amazon bestselling book to the documentary and now the magazine.
We'll discuss the creative vision, the importance of documenting basketball history and playground folklore, opportunities for fan sponsorship, and exclusive details surrounding the December launch of The Backcourt Magazine.
The magazine will debut in two formats:
Physical magazine: A collectible publication celebrating basketball's past, present, and future through compelling storytelling, historical features, photography, and original journalism.
YouTube interview based series: An extension of the magazine featuring conversations with basketball legends, influential figures, and emerging talent whose stories deserve to be told.
November 7TH. The Screening Room. 2 PM.
