Beyond the excitement around AI, the innovations, and what technology can do, I believe we must never lose sight of the people it is meant to serve.
As Africans, we have real challenges that need innovative solutions. Our communities have needs that should inform the technology we create and the futures we imagine.
The real impact of AI isn’t just in what it can do, but in what it can change for people. Would be great to see us build technology that makes healthcare more accessible, education more inclusive, information more trustworthy, and everyday life a little easier for people.
Let’s build AI tools around humanity, solutions that make a real difference in our communities and across Africa.
With all the excitement around AI, I think it’s important to keep asking ourselves: Who are we building for? Whose lives are we making better?
