13 days ago🇬🇧 Who will collect the most candy this Halloween? Kids are heading out on a candy hunt, but they’ll have to watch out for ghosts! 👻 Candy Hunters is an accessible, competitive board game for 1-4 players in which you place your Kid tokens on Building tiles and complete specific patterns to collect candy. 🍬 You can also end up with Scare Markers along the way, thanks to the Ghosts wandering around town. What do you actually do? Each round, players take turns performing a series of actions in the following order: 🎃 Add a Building tile of your choice, placing it next to an existing tile. 🎃 Move the Ghosts, sending them after other Kids or other Ghosts to push them around. 🎃 Score a pattern to collect candy, but also Scare Markers if there’s a Ghost in the pattern. 🎃 Optionally, swap your current pattern for a different one. 🎃 Place your Kid token on any empty building tile. After 6️⃣ rounds, the player with the most Victory Points wins. Points are earned by completing regular and haunted patterns and collecting candy portions. Each Scare Marker subtracts one point from your score. Candy Hunters is simple, quick, and enjoyable. It’s a great choice to kick off a Halloween game night or as a filler between heavier games. The available actions offer some fun tactical decisions, but there isn’t much strategic depth to be found here. The illustrations and components create a lovely Halloween atmosphere, and the Ghosts and Scare Markers look great. The only downside is the color scheme of the building tiles, which can make them a little harder to distinguish. The game was designed by Marek Chodań and Michał Gryń and published by @smart.flamingo . Pros: ✅ Accessible rules and a fast-paced gameplay. ✅ An engaging puzzle with opportunities to interfere with your opponents’ plans. ✅ A charming Halloween theme. Cons: ❌ The building tile colors can make them harder to distinguish. ❌ Limited strategic depth for players looking for a more challenging experience.
