Halloween week is upon us, and look what’s arrived! New paintings from one of our favourite Canadian expats, Heather Millar, now creating her magic from her new studio in Denmark. 🇩🇰🎃
A vintage BRIO dachshund with well-loved wheels, a smiling LEGO racer and an “I’m a Little Tuffy” patch featuring a pint-sized strongman — there’s plenty here to bring out your inner kid.
But take a closer look. Every stitch on that patch, every scuff on those wooden wheels and every reflection on that little dog is painted. Heather’s ability to capture these details never stops amazing us.
Inspired by childhood memories and treasured objects, she gives familiar things a larger-than-life presence, with colour, humour and so much personality.
Swipe through for a closer look at these new arrivals, along with some in-situ inspiration. And don’t worry about the head in the candy bowl… we’re getting into the Halloween spirit! 👻🍬
