๐˜ฝ๐™ค๐™ค๐™ : A Time of Witches
๐˜ผ๐™ช๐™ฉ๐™๐™ค๐™ง: Madeline Martin

๐‘ญ๐’Š๐’“๐’”๐’• ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’๐’–๐’ˆ๐’‰๐’•๐’”:

This is a fabulous story woven between past and present that I binged in one sitting. History has not been kind to women, especially during the witch hunt era, and this story beautifully honors those who suffered at the hands of others. While there is a minor romantic subplot, the heart of this story lies in the persecution of women and the cruelty they endured. Be warned, this can be an emotional read, especially as we follow one of our FMCs through her witch trials.

๐‘บ๐’š๐’๐’๐’‘๐’”๐’Š๐’”:

When Lilith begins experiencing strange things after her motherโ€™s death, including plants responding to her touch and nightmares of a woman being burned at the stake, she sets out to uncover the truth behind her familyโ€™s history. Her search leads her to England, where she discovers a connection to Sybil, a woman living centuries before her during the height of the witch hunts.

In 1645, Sybil is an independent widow whose knowledge of herbal healing and refusal to conform make her a target in a world determined to silence women. As accusations of witchcraft threaten everything she loves, her fate becomes tied to Lilithโ€™s in ways neither woman could have imagined.

The two women are connected across time, and Lilith must uncover the truth about Sybilโ€™s past before she loses her own place in history.

๐‘ญ๐’‚๐’—๐’๐’“๐’Š๐’•๐’† ๐‘ธ๐’–๐’๐’•๐’†:

โ€œThe flower does not seek permission to grow. The sun does not issue an apology as it rises. The moon does not feel shame when it glows.โ€

I was tending to sick kiddos all weekend. Slow weekend at home, and very tiring at the same time, but with lots of cuddles!
