Miami, 2004. Missy Elliott. The VMAs. RESPECT M.E.!
What an absolute honor to DJ these parties for the one and only MISSY ELLIOTT! A huge shout-out to Jessica Rosenblum, Mona Scott, Chris Lighty and everyone who gave me the opportunity to be part of something so iconic.
Missy asked me to create a mixtape for her Respect M.E. clothing line with Adidas. Then she told me I had to speak on the intro 😵 😂 Never in my life have I been so fucking terrified. But when Missy Elliott asks, YOU, JUST DO IT DO IT DO IT 💖
And because Missy is a badass with a massive heart, a portion of the collection’s sales was dedicated to Break the Cycle, an organization fighting domestic violence. ❤️
I still have pieces from that collection tucked away forever. Some memories are just too special.
