Sonik Podcast #014 - Tobias is out now on our Mixcloud
Born in Indonesia, shaped in the Netherlands—@tobias__031 relationship with electronic music was built as much on the dance floor as behind the decks. Nights spent at venues suchas PIP in Den Haag and POING in Rotterdam, Radion in Amsterdam, chasing a specific DJ or simply trying to understand what makes a venue's ecosystem tick became a kind of education—one that continues to shape the textures, atmospheres, and grooves he now reaches for in his own sets, drawing from a wide sonic palette. He made his mark abroad after winning Toffler's Talent Night in 2023 and has since shared stages with the likes of Cera Khin (DE) and MYRA (NL).
Tobias doesn't plan his sets; he walks in with music he trusts and lets the room shape the story from there. It's an approach built on instinct over structure and on treating each set as a conversation rather than a script.
Beyond the pursuit of sharing his sound, Tobias is currently building his own event series and imprint—a platform aimed at growing a community around electronic dancefloor-focused music in Jakarta, with the long-term goal of putting the city on the regional map and creating space for artists from across Southeast Asia and beyond.
