It’s easy to get bored and feel like you NEED to take a trade. But forcing trades can lead to lower-quality setups and unnecessary losses. Don’t let boredom or FOMO pull you away from your trading plan!

Boredom is the trigger I track most in my journal. Do you find it helps more to set a hard no-trade window, or to step away from the screen entirely when no setup is present? Writing down the urge before acting on it has cut down forced trades for me more than any rule about setups.

Boredom trades are a hidden cost too, since every forced entry still pays spread and commission on top of the risk. A written checklist of what qualifies as a setup makes sitting out much easier.

I was guilty of this when I first started 8 months ago. I was trying to make something out of nothing until I focused on having a good week not a good day. Now no trade days don't bother me anymore.
