Blakley-Cartwright’s highly anticipated novel, Heavy Cream, is our November centerpiece! The novel is in bookstores as of last month and was published by @simonbooks We can’t wait to gather around this one!
Our dinner series is a 24-seat gathering centered around one book and one meal. The evening starts with a cocktail hour and is followed by light programming on the book’s themes, a reading by the author, and a family-style dinner.
Our dinner party ethos is to go beyond the book and focus on the featured work as a primary text, a centerpiece that grounds the evening in conversation, themes, and connection around the book’s unique underpinnings and ideations. Heavy Cream is the perfect book to do just that!
Heavy Cream was listed as a must-read by @people magazine @oprahdaily and @literaryhub It was reviewed by @publisherswkly @nytimes and the @library_journal Last month it was also cited by Michelle Williams in @britishvogue as a book she was devouring ✨ We are so very ready to dive in.
For our November dinner, in addition to all that excitement, we are also particularly joyful to announce that dinner will be hosted at Novel Sense’s new studio space at 49 Westfield Street Suite 3 in Providence.
We cannot wait to welcome you to our new home: the headquarters for where we aspire to grow our event offerings and continue to build a creative community that values gathering together in real time.
