11 days agoIt’s the coddling and praise for mediocrity bc yaas “iNcluSiViTy” and yet us models are held to a higher standard while paid proportionally less. Make it make sense
11 days agotbh, ever since I was young I saw how the industry saw models as a canvas to play on for their needs. models show up bare, and they do whatever to your hair, face, and attire. I don’t think the industry is pivoting and changing how they interact with talent (influencer, model, etc). they are consistent with how they treat models… influencers are just a new edition. different or better treatment because they are NOT models. it appears models have always been dehumanized and objectified. influencers are their own individual, they make money without the brand. models make money because of the brand. so to me, it makes sense why they are more inclusive and not as harsh to the influencers. but that doesn’t make it right. your anger makes sense. it’s frustrating how hard models work to be a good fit for brands and we aren’t given our props. we aren’t given the same respect.
