Second day of our retreat 💕 the last day for me.

I completed the handle today. The original design used a karayori that is couched to and fro. I wanted a more rope like texture to mimick the handles of a japanese teapot. I decided to make a 5 into 1 twist using two colors of silk. In the end, it looked more like stone than rope, a friend mentioned it looked like agate. I quite like it, so I'll keep it like that.

I also finally put the tel kirma needles I bought from Istanbul to good use. These are perfect for stitching with plate. I'm keeping the strand hanging until the flower is stitched to decide if i will add more.

It was bittersweet saying goodbye to everyone today but I'm excited for my upcoming trip to Japan. Two more days of work 🙌🏻
