Yesterday on our trip, @pclassidy randomly started chatting up a fella who told him about his pizza place in the next town over. Wasn’t exactly close to our hotel, but we decided to check it out and I’m so glad we did. @unclechuckspizzeria is easily some of the best pizza I’ve ever had *~in my life*~ & I didn’t expect to find it in the middle of Illinois farm country. Chuck went to study the art of pizza on Staten Island and brought his own twist back home & nailed it. He also had a fried chicken truck in the back & brought us a bunch to try just bc we’re from out of town. Also brought out stuff for the kids to play with so we could eat in peace (he’s a brand new Dad himself). Whole operation out of a converted horse stable that also has 2 different bars in it & live bands. Very cool. Was so great I had to get a picture with him. If you’re ever in the Starved Rock area I’d say it’s a must stop. 10/10. Not pictured - the 3d pizza, plain cheese, which the kids ate too fast. (Also not an ad lol just jazzed about it!)
