Good-bye, beautiful Islay, Scotland’s finest: we will be back. It was a magical week, seeing the arrival of barnacle geese from Greenland. Photos are: sky at dusk; tweed at the Bridgend Hotel; Kildalton Cross; Kilnave window detail; Kilnave; Kilchoman - you can hardly spot church on left; beachwalk on the flats with moss-covered rocks, green stones and shells that looked like jewels; red kelp; stone near Finlaggan; tombstone at Finlaggan; view of Jura hills from Heathercottage; highland cattle; my trusty Brasher walking boots; JSV in a hide; the cottage on Loch Gruinart we stayed in. Thank you @almargadale and the team at @islayestatescompany
