Our Story ❤️

In 2020, when I was 15, I met Shrey, who was 16, online through an app called Reach. He was from India 🇮🇳, and I was from Finland 🇫🇮—two teenagers living thousands of kilometres apart who had no idea that a simple online conversation would change our lives.

We quickly became part of each other’s everyday lives. We spent almost every day talking, video calling, playing Fortnite, watching movies, and getting to know each other. Because of our age and the COVID pandemic, meeting each other wasn’t possible, so for three years, our relationship existed through a screen.

Then, in February 2023, Shrey moved from India to Germany to study. He had been expected to go to Canada, where he already had family, but he convinced his parents to let him choose Germany instead—a country where he knew nobody and didn’t speak the language.

A few weeks later, after finishing my final exams, I flew from Finland to Germany to meet him for the first time. After three years of waiting, we were finally in the same place. I stayed for a month before returning to Finland for my graduation.

In June, Shrey flew to Finland for my graduation and met my family for the first time. Soon after, I made the decision to move to Germany at 18 so we could finally start our life together. We first lived in a shared flat before finding a small apartment of our own.

In November 2024, we travelled to India together, where I finally met Shrey’s relatives and got to see the country he came from.

Then, in May 2025, we found out that I was 12 weeks pregnant. Suddenly, our story was becoming a family story. We spent months searching for a bigger home, and just one month before our baby was due, we finally found one.

On November 1st, 2025, we gave the keys to our old apartment back—and on that exact same day, our son was born.

Camas Books canceled an upcoming event in our infoshop after learning that the planned speaker has explicitly expressed support for Da'esh/ ISIS, which is a matter of public record. Our decision to cancel this event has nothing to do with supporting the Canadian government. Any person who supports Da'esh/ISIS is by definition a supporter of religious authoritarianism, ethnic genocide and gender-based violence.

Per our Mission Statement, Camas exists to promote anti-authoritarian and anti-hierarchical activism, and to work cooperatively in association with other anti-authoritarian groups to educate, organize and strengthen our social commitments, both globally and locally. Camas does not support, nor will we ever support or platform states, political parties or reactionary organizations. Especially oppressive organizations such as Da'esh/ISIS.

Our collective, past and present, includes Muslim members, and we stand by them in denouncing authoritarianism and religious fundamentalism that directly impact their communities.

In the future we strongly urge event organizers to be transparent in their intended use of our space and to read our mission statement and principles of unity ahead of time to prevent any confusion of our political boundaries.

Yusril Ihza Mahendra Menteri Koordinator Bidang Hukum, Hak Asasi Manusia, Imigrasi, dan Pemasyarakatan mengatakan, kasus dugaan penyadapan nomor telepon Presiden RI dan pejabat negara oleh Jenderal Polisi Sigit Listyo Prabowo bekas Kapolri, tidak terkait makar.

Menurutnya, dugaan tindak pidana tersebut berkaitan dengan penyadapan ilegal yang mengarah pada pelanggan Undang-undang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (ITE).

Dalam keterangannya, Selasa (3/11/2026) malam, di Jakarta, Yusril menjelaskan, pasal makar diatur secara khusus dalam peraturan perundang-undangan.

Sehingga, perkara yang sedang diproses kepolisian tidak bisa langsung dikaitkan dengan dugaan makar.

Sementara, Irjen Pol. Slamet Uliandi mantan Kepala Divisi Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi Polri masih berstatus saksi.

Pengumuman status hukum itu disampaikan Komjen Pol Asep Safrudin Kabareskrim Polri, Selasa (3/11/2026) malam, di Mabes Polri, Jakarta.

Berdasarkan hasil penyelidikan, para tersangka diduga memerintahkan penyadapan tanpa prosedur hukum yang sah sepanjang tahun 2025 sampai 2026. Praktik tersebut dilakukan tanpa surat permohonan penyidik atau lampiran laporan polisi (LP).

Menurut Asep, penyadapan dilakukan dengan memasukkan sejumlah nomor telepon ke dalam sistem Lawful Interception Management System tanpa melalui proses verifikasi. Sehingga, nomor-nomor yang masuk bisa dipantau tanpa keterkaitan dengan proses penegakan hukum.

Padahal, mekanisme pemantauan dan penyadapan wajib mengikuti ketentuan dalam Peraturan Kapolri Nomor 5 Tahun 2010 yang menegaskan proses penyadapan harus memiliki dasar hukum yang jelas, termasuk keterkaitan dengan kepentingan penyelidikan atau penyidikan sesuai peraturan perundang-undangan.

Tapi, dalam perkara ini, penyidik menduga para tersangka memerintahkan pihak tertentu memasukan sejumlah nomor telepon ke sistem penyadapan tanpa melalui prosedur yang dipersyaratkan.
