Jack Dorsey and Block just released Dessa a voice to voice AI model!
Standard models convert speech —> text —> process —> back to speech
but this model was trained 100% on human conversations to better understand, intonations emotions, and react and process in real time.
Dorsey says this is important for security and safety, especially in high risk industries like finance against fraud detection
Block is the parent company of Cash App & Square point of sales systems
this is also an example of tax company bringing models back in house instead of relying on OpenAI and anthropic Google and other model providers
