I don't think it's controversial to say that the people of the West Indies inherited their behaviour from those who came before that knew mostly violence. And it must be difficult doing something different from others around you. You could argue that they know no better, even though it's plain to see that something else is necessary today

You are correct. The love is towards tourists. Jamaica is infiltrated with colonialist mentality. Alot of bitterness towards each other, again stemmed from plantation society.
