Dear Tokyo,
@runtheboroughs ,
@ikism_rc ,
@newbalancerunning ,
A 60-second reel doesn’t really cut it for me, and rest assured there’s going to be a couple more posts on the whole trip after this one.
But I guess in short, it’s taken me a little while to reflect on the trip because I’m still processing how I ended up in Tokyo.
You’ve probably heard me say it again but running has changed my life, the people in my circle of friends have changed my life, the sheer will to want to run has changed the way I look at life.
One foot in front of the other then lead me to Tokyo.
It was half work, half leisure, but I can’t say that I don’t love what I do and the people I get to meet along the way.
Words can only summarise how I feel and I’m so grateful to have been able to do it with two of my closest friends
@kodjcity @raaandy.zip and I truly wish the rest of @runtheboroughs could have come with us.
To step into a country with minimal connections and then feel welcomed like family is something that only real community can truly do, people were saying run clubs are overrated, blah blah blah
You ain’t been to @runtheboroughs init - don’t worry though we’ll be here and we’ll keep globe trotting, until we’ve run every borough.
But Tokyo Legacy Half, you were a challenge and a treat - what an amazing city that I got to pepper 21KM in, I went for a PB and didn’t get it, but who fucking cares, I ran in Tokyo and still got my second fastest time - jet lagged to shits and I don’t regret it one bit.
Thank you and I love you @runtheboroughs
To the world and back. 💖
We go again
@waddypillkins - Mara block incoming
Tokyo I will be back, I promise 💖
心からの感謝
