My 10 before the end is nothing if not aspirational.

Aspirational because:
1️⃣ there is absolutely NO way that I’ll get through another 10 books in the next two months, and
2️⃣ at this point I actually only own one of these books (Good People).

But it’s good to have goals, so here are mine.

📚 The Pirate Queen - @ariel.lawhon
📚 Pachinko - @lee_minjin
📚 American Hagwon - Min Jin Lee
📚 Hollow Bones - @jodipicoult
📚 Good People - @patmeenasabit
📚 Partita - @barbara.kingsolver
📚 The Burning Side - @sarahdamoff
📚 Yellow face - @kuangrf
📚 Big Little Truths - @lianemoriarty_official
📚 Five - @ilona.bannister

I only read Pachinko so far. But I know that all these books are very, very well-written. Enjoy reading!!!!

Haha mine is very aspirational as well. But those are long books! Good People is excellent and Yellowface is a romp.

Have just started American Hagwon, the story is starting out really well, Pachinko is also very good but these are not quick reads!

Love the choices! 🤭 and yes it’s a goal for a reason, don’t make it add more pressure ❤️

I’m just about to start Partita. I’ve heard good things! But have many of these on my TBR too so look forward to seeing what you choose.

Pachinko is like a really great meal: there are many well-developed characters, and Lee manages to bring both Korea and Japan alive. I'm currently reading American Hagwon, which is less successful. The writing is more repetitive. But the characters are still charming.

Pachinko and Partita have been two of my favourite books of the year…maybe even ever

This is such a great list! I read Yellowface beginning of this year and it was really engaging 💁‍♀️
